Disraeli Staffordshire dogs are

rare. The Disraeli dogs were

named after Queen Victoria's

prime minister, Benjamin Disraeli.

Characteristic curls are on the

forehead and repeated on

the back of the head.

of a trio of dogs. Surrounding the

scene is mother-of-pearl inlay. Ivory buttons are located on each corner

front and back (one is missing on

the back). Center binding is gone

and tape is holding the blotter

together. Blotter measures

9" in height and 6" wide.

diameter on the second slot and

almost 2" wide. It is in good

condition. Has some cracks but all

are stable. One spike missing.

Newfoundland Dog Painting

19C oil painting of a

Newfoundland dog. Attributed

to Edwin Landseer. The initials

EL at the bottom left corner.

Located at the bottom center of

the frame is an old name plate

which has Landseer printed on it.

The painting measures 12" x 14 1/2". The old gesso and wood frame

has a gold finish and measures

18 1/2" x 20 1/2". Frame has

some wear and minor chipping.

Painting is in good condition.

The painting has been

professionally relined.
