Antique Porcelain Bone Dish Dates 1891-1917. Has Moritz Zdekauer makers mark on base. Measures 7 " in length. Condition is good, no restorations. There is a tiny chip on the right side, looks like it was done at factory, because there is gilding within the chip. Bone dishes were considered a necessary part of a table setting for the Victorian table. The crescent shaped dish was kept at the edge of the dinner plate so the bones removed from the fish could be stored away from the uneaten food. Ford was a specialist painter of miniature enamels, he was a pupil and assistant of William Essex who was famous for his dog enamels.
